The Flash “Dead Man Running” Review

Season 6 Episode 3 “Barry prepares a member of Team Flash for life without him while hunting a terrifying meta-human with an unquenchable thirst; Ralph uncovers a family secret.”

What I Liked?

1. Barry and Iris make the decision to tell Team Flash about Crisis but they don’t tell them everything. Barry decides to train them and get them ready for the future… without Flash.

2. Allegra informs Iris about a story she wants to pursue, she shows Iris a photo of “Harrison Wells” still alive and well. Iris takes control of that story and puts Allegra on another story. Iris and Cisco track this new Wells down and he makes his entrance, chokes Cisco and his beeper goes off near Iris so Iris tasers him. This new Wells is called Harrison Nash Well, he wakes up and does a Batman, drops a smoke bomb and disappears.

3. A team up of Flash and Frost to go after this villain who ripped apart some gang members. They find him at Ramsey’s lab searching for Dark Matter, A angry Frost uses her powers to push him out the window which makes Flash disappointed.

We come to find out that Frost is angry because she’s eventually got a life of her own, she hasn’t done everything she wants and this Crisis could potentially end it all before she can.

4. Barry throws Frost a birthday party since she’s never had one before. Frost knows that Barry is going to do more than disappear in the Crisis so Barry and Iris decide to be open to Team Flash and they let the team know that for them to survive, Barry needs to die.

What I Disliked?

1. Ralph is a great character he’s funny, his powers are so fun to see and all around had great character development since joining the show however this episode his story was quite boring. His story was essentially him helping his mother and finding out her boyfriends are not dead as she told Ralph they were.

2. Frost needs to learn to keep cool (no pun intended) She makes her way to Ramsey’s lab thinking he is the villain and she puts a ice dagger to his throat.

3. While Tom Cavanagh has played a few decent characters, it’s getting quite old now. How many characters can he play?

Favorite Moment?

1. Barry and Ramsey go to STAR Labs to do more research on how to stop Romero from getting more dark matter. Barry has a sense about Ramsey and he shouldn’t trust him, he tells Ramsey he’ll go get another part but catches Ramsey stealing some tech.

2. The villain, Romero enters STAR Labs and starts to choke Ramsey until he starts to mimic him. Barry walks in and leads Romero to the pipeline and locks him up until Romero breaks out, Frost thinks about an idea and decides to overload him with dark matter until Romero explodes covering both Frost and Barry in blood.

The Verdict.

Fairly alright episode, nothing to special. Felt like a filler episode, from the Ralph side plot to the Harry Wells side plot. The only decent thing was Flash training Frost and prepping her for when Barry is gone. The villain Romero was quite boring too.
