There’s been a fair few shows that have come out in 2024. Knuckles, The Acolyte, The Boys, and Halo are just a few.
As it stands, we’re in July and there still isn’t a show that even comes close to it. I thought The Boys season 4 would be the main rival but even that has been pretty poor this season.
Fallout was a huge testament to fans of the video games. I had massive doubts that the series could live up to what the games captured and it managed to do that.
The thing is with Fallout, I was invested from the first episode. The other shows that have come out in 2024 haven’t been able to do that as well as Fallout did.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the other shows that have been released are terrible in comparison – they’re not; they’re just not on the same level as Fallout when it comes to everything: storytelling, action, characters, and the entertainment factor.
At OCU, we always bring a vote to the public at the end of the year so we can put out our show of the year. I honestly believe Fallout is going to win 2024 and I’m saying this in July. Even when I look forward, I can’t see anything living up to what Fallout has done.
Can The Penguin do it?
Can Agatha do it?
Can Superman & Lois do it?
I don’t think they can. I may be coming off as a giant fanboy at this point (I pretty much am) but I feel like we’ve been let down a lot in the last few years when it comes to superhero/comic book TV shows. This sector feels like it needs a dire turnaround. Marvel hasn’t done well nor has DC.
Prime has stepped up don’t get me wrong, The Boys season 4 isn’t the worst thing I’ve seen, it’s just not as good as the previous 3 seasons. I do believe they can pick it up for the final 2 episodes but Fallout was consistent throughout.
