Fallout has been on one hell of a ride this past month or so. As a direct result of the show, the franchise’s popularity has surged beyond what anyone thought it could. The show’s even managed to convert non-Fallout gaming fans into fans of this vastly unique universe. What a time to be alive.
There are 5 things from the video games I want to see have more of an impact coming from the video games. There was a lot to unpack during the season but there’s still more to come.
1. Deathclaws
Deathclaw are some of the more powerful enemies you’ll encounter when you play through the game. They couldn’t care less and attack on sight for the most part. You can find yourself in tricky situations if you attempt to engage under leveled. We’ve heard talks that Deathclaws may be featured in season 2 but I’d love to see them in a live-action setting, more so to see how our main characters react to it.
2. X-01 Power Armor
In the show, we got to see the T-60 Power Armor for the first time in live-action. As you progress through the games, the T-60 tends to be the armor you use for a significant portion of the game until you stumble across X-01. The armor itself is more mean-looking and has better stats in the actual game itself. I’d love to see this suit be shown throughout the second season or at least at the very end when Maximus gets his own set.
3. New Vegas canon or ties to the games
At the end of season 1, we got a glimpse of what appeared to be New Vegas. Hank was heading there so I do believe there could be a focus on the Vegas Strip within the second season. If this is to be the case, Bethesda will likely need to decide on a canon ending to New Vegas which I am all for. I understand this one may be controversial as I know people prefer the games to be your way and it makes sense, however, New Vegas is nearly 14 years old. It’s time to do something with it.
4. The Institute or synths
The Institute was a major part of Fallout 4 as were Synths. Judging how widespread the Synths were, it would make sense they have made it far and wide across the US. Considering whichever way the game ends (unless you side with the Institute) it revolves around destroying the massive facility underground. I fully suspect even in a nuclear apocalypse that news will get around amongst survivors. I’d like to see a reference to The Institute or something involving the Synths. This is even more so considering Fallout 4 is only set 9 years before the show.
5. More on the American-China war
We’ve had a fair share of backstories when it comes to the show and I’ve enjoyed every single one of them, including the shot of the nuclear bombs going off everywhere. It’s eery but it’s also intriguing at the same time. We know Vault-Tec were major players in the war going nuclear due to their plans but I ideally want to see who actually set the first bomb off and also what happened to the rest of the world – we know the devastation was global but it’ll be nice to get some proper clarification on what happened outside of the US – even if it’s just mentions.
Is there anything you’d like to see in the second season? If so, let me know in the comments below.
