Honestly, DC FanDome has become one of my favorite events of the year because you know it’s going to be packed with news, trailers, and announcements.
The second-year followed on from the largely popular FanDome of last year and has seemingly replaced DC’s presence in the usual comic cons, and I actually prefer it this way.
Of course, there was a lot of different announcements at FanDome which blew me away but there were 3 in particular that really stood out for me. You can read our recap on the entire event here if you wish.
1. The Batman
We’ve mentioned this a few times but when it comes to Robert Pattinson becoming the next Batman in the DC world, we were all up for it, even when people compared him to Twilight, etc. We had this inkling that Pattinson would in fact be one of the best live-action Batman’s we’ve seen in history. It’s unorthodox the cast as he doesn’t tick the usual boxes but I believe that’s absolutely why he’s going to nail this in more than one way.
When the first trailer came out last year at the first DC FanDome, I was excited. With barely any filming done, they still managed to create an impacting trailer. “I’m vengeance” just sent goosebumps up my entire spine. Fast forward a year and we knew in advance we would be getting the first full-blown trailer for the movie, it was what I was most excited for when it came to the event, and I can tell you now that it did not disappoint.
There have been heavy rumors of Robert Pattinson and the Director, Matt Reaves not getting on with each other – but these rumors have been just that, and so far their working relationship seems to be in a good place. It’s likely both Reaves and Pattinson are here for the long haul and I’d love nothing more than that. The Batman announcements at FanDome 2 were my most anticipated hence the number 1 on this list. The movie is set to release in theatres worldwide on March 4th, 2022.
2. Gotham Knights
In regards to video games, Gotham Knights stand out above the rest for me. I think the only other one I’m on the same level of excitement for is Hogwarts Legacy. Gotham Knights were first announced last year and we actually got both a trailer and a gameplay trailer. This year we got the trailer which touched base on more of the story and the Court of Owls.
Gotham Knights will be a cooperative drop-in, drop out type game controlling 4 heroes.
- Nightwing
- Red Hood
- Batgirl
- Robin
I love anything coop, as and my fellow writer, Phil Weaver love anything type of game like this. I mean, even despite the shocking release of Marvel’s Avengers, we got 100’s of fun hours from it. So Gotham Knights automatically stand out for me, especially considering Nightwing and Red Hood are two of my favourite superhero characters at present because of the HBO Max series, Titans.
Here are the 3 trailers so far;

Court of Owls;
3. The Flash
Now, if you read the above paragraph you may think I’m contradicting myself because I mentioned Titans and we did get news of a season 4 plus a teaser for the season 3 finale. However, I knew that was coming but The Flash threw me off guard. We expected to just get some news but an actual teaser came out of nowhere, and the suit, damn, the suit just looks amazing. Yes, it’s not really ripped from the comics but it looks incredible.
We even got the Batman cowl plus a brief scene with our new Supergirl. I had my doubts over the movie I’m not going to lie but I do genuinely think it’s going to be fantastic. I still think it’s sad we won’t be seeing Ray Fisher’s Cyborg involved but Ezra will do a great job in carrying the movie.
The teaser was fairly brief but it definitely felt like more of a full-blown trailer than a teaser. I am excited to see the story this movie goes down, and I hope the rumors are true that Grant Gustin’s Flash will make an appearance also.
That’s my top 3 from the event. It was a great event and I really hope DC continues this trend moving forward because it is an enjoyable experience. It’s what sets DC apart from Disney when it comes to announcements, so I hope Disney set up their own instead of an “Investors Day”.
