“Sonic The Hedgehog” Universe Continues to Grow

A few years back, the world got introduced to the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Although initially, the design for Sonic was badly received which made the movie be delayed so that the design for Sonic could be reworked.

The first movie was released and still received mixed reactions to the movie. The movie faired alright at the box office making around $320 million on a budget of $85-90 million. For me personally, I loved the movie, it was a fun, comedic movie that showcased Sonic well.

The sequel to Sonic is set to debut on April 8, 2022, and the movie will be debuting Tails as well as fan-favorite, Knuckles.

Now, even with the second movie yet to release, it seems like Paramount Pictures and Sega Corp are happy to expand and fully develop a whole universe revolving around Sonic. They are set to continue growing their universe in both film and TV.

Firstly, Paramount and Sega have announced a third film in the “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise. This is great because this tells me that they fully believe in this universe.

Lastly, Paramount and Sega are proud to announce their first original live-action series in the Sonic universe, set to launch in 2023.
