So this article could potentially turn out to be false, but two episodes into the new Halo series, and I’m absolutely blown away, invested, and slowly becoming a fan of the Halo franchise.
I’ve never been a true fan of Halo, I’ve played the games with friends in the past but it’s never truly captured my attention, although the games are fun. So to see a live-action series that is slowly making me become more of a fan is incredible to see.
I think this is down to a few things which I’ll explain.
Story
The story is very similar to the games, aliens threatening the human existence, on which the series is based on. I love the way they’ve done this story. They’ve turned this story that the games have and adapted it into so far a great story that fits the type of show it is.
Action
The action blew me away. The action we got to see throughout episode one was fantastic. I sat there and watched it in pure joy. I loved the introduction to Master Chief and the Spartans. These bulky-armored-suited soldiers landing and absolutely shredding aliens was such a great way to showcase what is to come later on.
Sounds
You may read this part and think “sounds? What does he mean?” I mean with Master Chief. They’ve taken the sounds from the game and used them perfectly in the show. Like when Master Chief took shots and his shield went down, we got to see him in cover and heard the shield recharge sound from the games. Incredible.
Another sound I heard was the soundtrack from the games, the humming just ever so slightly tweaked for the series, but if you listen closely, you’ll hear it.
Pablo Schreiber
Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief is the perfect casting. Literally from the moment he landed, I was a fan. He truly captures the essence of Master Chief. Even when he removes his helmet, I know that he is Master Chief simply because of his mannerisms, facial expressions, and how he presents himself.
Also, I wouldn’t be mad at Marvel for casting him as Wolverine.
I truly hope that this show continues it’s epic episodes for the entire season. I went into this not knowing or expecting to become a fan, but it’s been a really surprising new series to watch and to focus on. I watched the first episode and remember instantly messaging my brother to watch the first episode.
The CGI and visuals for the series are beyond great for that of a TV show. Especially one focused on a game series where they can literally create anything they’d like, the producers, and everyone behind the scenes truly cares for this which makes the series a standout.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this series wins awards throughout the year.

Would I recommend this series? 100% yes. If you are a casual fan this series is for you, if you are a hardcore fan you might have some opinions on certain stuff that happens but it’s still worth watching.
