Let’s Talk: Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Series

So pretty much the entire internet and mainly the Star Wars fanbase is excited for the launch of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ next month.

Firstly, It’s the return of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen into the Star Wars universe, finally. Everyone is happy about it, we are getting to see the time when Obi-Wan is broken and the Empire is running wild throughout the galaxy.

Throughout the series, it’s rumored to be filled with cameos and appearances which is amazing, but all this is great, I have no doubt the series will be great as well, but while everyone is happy, none stop talking about the series, it is getting the same question or statement popping up.

Obi-Wan vs Darth Vader is fan service.

Theoretically, this is true. As this entire fight or duel contradicts what Episode 4, A New Hope states. Darth Vader and an older Ben Kenobi meet again on the Deathstar and Vader state “I have grown in power since we last met, Master” while for many years, Star Wars fans and casual viewers took this as a throwback to the duel on Mustafar which left Anakin, or then Lord Vader burnt, cut, and brutally mutilated on the rocks and soil of Mustafar.

Everything changes, so this line could in fact mean the upcoming meeting in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Which from what I have heard, is nothing short of amazing. The upcoming duel between Obi-Wan and Vader is brutal with people even saying Vader uses a Force push on Obi-Wan which sends the Jedi Master flying backward.

Keep in mind that in this duel, Vader is in his prime, he’s gone out on his own to hunt down a Jedi and take their Kyber Crystal, he’s hunted down many other Jedi and is in full control of his mechanical limbs while Obi-Wan is broken, lost, and basically hidden his Force abilities.

My opinion on this comment is… does it truly matter? I get it does to George Lucas loyalists, and I consider myself one, but everyone has asked for this, has asked for the return of Obi-Wan and Anakin, so why not go all out and deliver a badass fight between the pair.

I just hope, and I believe this, that Hayden returning as Vader in Obi-Wan, as well as the Ahsoka series, is the beginning of something major for the character of Darth Vader, Disney and Lucasfilm have seen that fans have wanted a Darth Vader live-action project for years so they know they could make millions from it.
