Over the past couple of years, DC Comics, Warner Bros., and HBO Max have been sending out little tidbits of information about a “Green Lantern” live-action series for the streaming service HBO Max.
While this is completely fine, many people want it, and some don’t. For me, I would love this especially since I’m an avid campaigner for Jermaine Rivers to be cast as live-action John Stewart.
What is not fine is the executives and creators being completely silent about the project for months at a time.
The last thing we heard about the series was that Finn Wittrock was cast to be Guy Gardner in the unknown project. This news was revealed officially over a year ago and once again the company has gone completely silent. We do not even know if they still have plans to go ahead with the series.

Before this casting happened, the last piece of information we had was simply an announcement for the series, and guess when that was? October 9th, 2020. The series has been happening for nearly 2 years and we still have yet to see or read anything about it.
Why? That’s all I can ask at this moment. Why so silent about this project which if done correctly, could be insanely well and popular for the streaming service.
I think if DC, HBO Max, and Warner Bros. are serious about this series, give the fans some hope and release some new casting or information or anything surrounding the series. Ultimately this is going to be a bad move if they stay silent as hype, excitement, and many fans will be uninterested in this series before it even premieres.
Jermaine Rivers NEEDS and WANTS to give a voice to John Stewart in live-action.
