Season 2 Episode 10 “Titans Tower comes under attack by Mercy Graves.”
What I Liked?
1. The episode starts off with Dick being processed to head into prison, we find out he’s pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to 7 years & no probation for his assault on a federal officer. I liked this because it’s truly only him that’s suffering because of what happened with Jericho.
2. Dick refuses to be helped by a prison guard so he get’s put in a cell with 3 other people who all want nothing to do with Dick because the trio are planning an escape to which Dick tells them it’s a bad idea.
3. Krypto goes back to Titans tower and rings the doorbell with his nose. This leads Gar to find Conner again who brings him back to the tower until an attack from Mercy Graves on the tower, Gar easily gets taken down as well as Krypto, so Conner and Gar get taken to Cadmus Labs.
4. After Donna has trouble finding Rachel, she heads back to the tower to get help but stumbles into the mess and destruction Mercy Graves left behind. Donna finds bloody tiger prints and hand prints.
What I Disliked?
1. We haven’t saw much of Gar’s powers this season however we did get to see him turn into a tiger this episode but wait? Only for a few seconds? This sucks that we haven’t had any character progression for Gar this season.
2. Rachel can not control her powers, after saving her new friend from getting beat up, Rachels powers taken control of a gargoyle statue which attacks and brutally kills the attacker.
Favorite Moment
One of Dick’s cell mates get’s stabbed and killed so while their in there cell another cell mate tells Dick of the bird “Alazul” who comes in the night and saves people while drawing a bird logo on the wall.
The cell mates try to escape but are quickly beaten down until a future bird comes and saves people… this future bird is Dick who helps his cells mates and let’s them go free. I loved this twist on the potential origins of Nightwing. It also was the biggest tease we have had this season for Nightwing… It’s so close.
Stand Out Character
Dick. He made the choice to pay the price of Jericho being killed by getting himself put in prison. Dick also heard the tale of “Alazul” which could lead to be the reason he turns into Nightwing.
The Verdict
A slow build to the episode which mainly focused on Dick in prison while learning about Alazul, Loved the potential tease of Gar learning more or being experimented on by Cadmus. The twist of the Nightwing origins was unexpected but I enjoyed it.
