Stranger Things – I Was Completely Wrong

I think everyone on the planet knows about Stranger Things and not only that but absolutely loves it. The Stranger Things fandom is one of the best fandom out there currently and I’ll stand by that. Everything I see from this fandom is positive, from theories to TikTok videos, and more.

I now see why it is one of Netflix’s biggest hits with it recently reaching a watch time of over 1 billion hours according to Netflix.

But why was I wrong about it?

Well, when it was originally released back on July 15, 2016, I initially watched the first episode and immediately left it at that and went about my life without finishing the series. I did eventually go back and watch it but I believe it was around the time of the second season so I was a season behind and obviously the internet was buzzing with hype.

Even after watching the first season, heading into the second season I ultimately did the thing I did with season 1 and left it half-finished. I still couldn’t grasp the show, I couldn’t give it my attention for some reason, while it was good, I just wasn’t interested and nothing was keeping me there, so I left.

It wasn’t until season 3 that I began to truly see what the series was like and why it was so hugely respected, loved, and cherished as a Netflix series. I immediately restarted it from season one and binged the series and ultimately became a fan of it.

Jump forward to the build-up to season 4 and all of the information that was coming out kept slowly building my hype and excitement for the series and season 4 was where I truly fell in love with the series.

The excitement and build-up for the fourth season were immense and it was everywhere on my social media from Facebook to Tiktok. I couldn’t escape it. Where luckily for me I came down with sickness so it put me out of commission for a few weeks and I needed a series to watch.

I binged the fourth season and it was none stop greatness. The action, the intense story, the backstory, the characters, and the villain was so interesting that I wanted more and couldn’t wait for season 4 volume 2 to release.

Season 4 volume two delivered. From the moment they released a trailer, it delivered epicness. Eddie Munson is played by Joseph Quinn and he absolutely was one of the best part of the series. His portrayal of Eddie was magical and I say that whole-heartedly.

Joseph Quinn went all in for the role. He learned to play Master of Puppets on the guitar and his friendship and scenes with Gaten Matarazzo were perfect, emotional, funny, and heartbreaking.

Eddie Munson’s Upside Down guitar scene is not only one of the best scenes in the entire Stranger Things series, it’s one of the best scenes in a TV show, PERIOD. You can not tell me otherwise.

The Duffer Brothers have given us a perfect show and I can not wait for the fifth season to release in 2024.
