What I Liked

1. An amazing opening scene for the start of this Season. It was great to have a reminder of where we are at with each of the characters. Totally forgot about Sportsman and Huntress (Larry & Paula) moving in next door, brilliant.

2. I’m glad Sylvester isn’t taking the staff from Courtney. Obviously, we have all seen the trailer and know things do get about sour between them so that could change, but it is right for him to show her respect given that the staff chose her.

3. The scene between Courtney and Sylvester was very moving. After him struggling to come to terms with the fact he isn’t Starman he opens up as to why. It makes complete sense, he never married, never had children, didn’t have a family to go back to, and the one thing he did have was taken away from him. Massive respect for Courtney here as she tells him to take the staff whilst she’s at school. I feel like this will backfire, but definitely a nice thought on her part.

4. Exciting end to this episode. Throughout we see The Gambler trying to seek forgiveness and help as he wishes to find his daughter. His attempts aren’t really successful as the majority have their doubts but Courtney wanted to give him a chance. It seemed right when she was close to convincing the team, the Gambler was murdered only moments after writing a letter to his daughter.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report this week.

Favourite Moment

Pat and Sylvester rekindling their friendship certainly tugged on our heartstrings a little. You can see how much they missed each other and how happy they were to be spending this time together. It’s not often we see Pat let loose and have a little fun so to see him flying in S.T.R.I.P.E with Starman was a great moment.

Standout Character

Courtney is taking the standout this week. She’s the most positive character which we love to see, always willing to give people a chance, and showed Starman a great amount of respect after hearing his story.

Verdict

It wasn’t an explosive episode but, to be honest when it’s the first episode of a season I never expect it to be. We have to take time to remember what happened previously, where each of the characters is at, and then try to fit in some story. It wasn’t incredible but I didn’t have anything bad to say about the episode.
