The third season of DC’s Stargirl is coming to a swift end with only a couple of episodes left in the season.
The series, created by Geoff Johns, stars Brec Bassinger as high school student Courtney Whitmore.
Unfortunately, season 3 of Stargirl will be its last on The CW, this comes less than a month after Nexstar Media Group acquired the network.
According to Deadline, the crew was told early on that the third season would most likely be its last and to “write a goodbye”.
I will not lie, this series going to the CW was doomed. The CW has had an extensive backstory of acquiring shows and turning them upside down. It had happened with Supergirl, and typically shows do not last.
I think that if this series was to go to HBO Max instead, we would have had better writing, better action scenes, and of course more seasons.
Stargirl officially joins most of the Arrowverse/DC shows in the “canceled” bin.
The first two seasons of Stargirl were fantastic but it is not hard to say that the third season has lacked.
