Topps Chrome 2022 Star Wars The Mandalorian Review

First and foremost, I will say that this is not a sponsored review, ad, or anything of that nature. This is simply me buying a Topps Chrome box and reviewing it because of a passion I have for collecting cards, statues, comics, and more.

Card collecting is something I have loved doing and each card review I do is different. The range goes from Star Wars to Dragon Ball. Everything about it is satisfying and quite frankly, keeps my mind calm.

In this review I’ll be as fair as can be, I’ll give you what I like, dislike, and more.

For Beginners/Rookies

This section is based on people just getting started and want to know where to start for card collecting. If you have a budget you can easily get some cheaper cards from Topps, although the quality will be different.

I’ve reviewed a previous Mandalorian box which cost around £45 from Topps and I loved them. Ever since then and after countless YouTube box breaks I’ve wanted to step up. This is what I did with this box. This box cost £145 and I can tell you now that it is a steep price but you will love it. This box could set you up with a collection easily. You get around 7ish cards from this one box with a chance at some big hits.

For Collectors

This is a perfect set for collectors. The quality of the cards in this box is fantastic. You can feel the difference between these cards to previous cards. These cards feel protected in a way that they won’t get damaged on transport.

As a collector, these cards will be sitting protected in sleeves and in a binder. While many of the cards were decent and of great quality, I did have some that were slightly bent. Not majorly but they had a curve to them, it was noticeable when I placed them on the table, this is something that you’ll need to check for if you bought a box.

Collectors like a full set of cards. In this box, while you will get a near-enough full collection they do have sets within this set. You have sets like concept art cards, comic book artwork covers, autographs, and numbered cards.

While you won’t get full numbered or autograph cards you will and can complete the other sets, which I did in this set. I managed to complete the comic book artwork cover set only managing to get one duplicate. This makes my list somewhat complete. I just need to collect a few more.

Purely for Profit

Now, the big question is, Can you make money on this box? Well yes, you can in a few ways but you can also lose money too. It’s a risk and it’s a naturally occurring thing when buying any box. This box cost £145, you can either pull big autographs or you can pull lower-end autographs, but at the end of the day it’s still an autograph.

With this box I think I made no profit, I could be wrong because of one card I did manage to pull. I got an autograph by Misty Rosas, it was a common and unnumbered auto. She played the Frog Lady in a couple of episodes and seemingly was a fan-favorite character. She also played Quill but didn’t voice him. I’m happy with that but what I am even happier with is managing to pull an Ahsoka Tano and Grogu card numbered 1/10, that is massive. I’ve tried searching for a price but I’m coming up short.

Is It Worth It?

Honestly, yes. While I can’t say I pulled massively, I did enjoy opening the cards and finding out what pulls I did get. As a collector, I’m more than happy. If I could open more, you bet I would. If you buy a box and pull an auto from Pedro Pascal or someone of that nature you are laughing.

Overall Verdict

I loved everything about this box and the process of buying the box. Topps is a fantastic company that would be shipped and delivered the box way ahead of time. I loved every single card in this box and will hope to buy some more. It gives you a wide range of cards in the box and can deliver some amazing stills from the show.

Yes. I would recommend this to anything that is a fan of Star Wars, The Mandalorian, or card collecting in general.
