Watchmen ‘An Almost Religious Awe’ Review

As we hurtle to the season’s finale we are reminded of the hardships of the characters. The masks that hide the pain of the characters is backed up by the wading through a personal trauma that each of the main characters has been subject to. We see Angela finally get her police badge but it leaves a sour taste in the mouth instead of happiness. Given the ramifications of her joining the force later down the line which we see in this episode.

Lady Trieu reveals that everyone’s favourite Martian is in fact on Earth. As we finally meet Doctor Manhattan we see that people seem to regard him as God across the globe. Not only that but Angela’s husband Cal is, in fact, him in person. Yet we are left surplus as to why. It seems like there has been no hinting towards this at all and I am really confused as to why this development has taken place.

Furthermore, we are left with the new revelation that Cyclops is indeed the Seventh Cavalry. It seems like this episode has been quite the information dump as many loose ends have been tied up. Yet we are still left with reels of no context.

I hope the next one stands up by itself because I’m confused.

Perry Wyatt

Hiya! My name is Perry Wyatt and I am from the dragon-infested land of Wales in the UK. I am a massive nerd and English graduate with a love for all things Marvel and DC along with movies, cartoons and anime. When I'm not holed up gaming or writing, I am at ComiCons in cosplay or being a Dungeon Master for my DND group. I look forward to nerding out with like-minded people.
