Over the past few days I’ve genuinely sat on footage of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, from gameplay footage, and the developers breaking the game down at the State of Play. Of course, with anything DC comes hate, some warranted and some unnecessary.
Watching the gameplay, the game actually looks fun to play, especially if you have 2-3 friends that will play with you. The game is set 5 years after the events of Arkham Knight, Brainiac has invaded Earth and has taken control of Metropolis and took control of the Justice League.
The Suicide Squad consists of Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Shark, and Captain Boomerang. Throughout the gameplay that was shown, the movement looks fluid, the running and shooting all look fantastic, and the character’s abilities look so fun to use.
Now, yes, people might look at this and compare it to Arkham Knight and say “What have they done”, and yes, that’s a genuine question to ask. Still, as one of the developers mentioned in the video above, we’re seeing this universe through the eyes of the villains in this universe.
I also love the detail that the developers have thought about this universe. We’re normally seeing Gotham City, a dark, dirty, down-ridden, corrupt city that is normally either afraid of Batman or thinks of him as nothing but a mere vigilante, in this game, we’re seeing Metropolis. A clean, loving, and friendly, and the citizens think of Superman as a true hero. They have built literal statues for him.
Also, the designs of the Justice League, are 10/10. Especially the Flash, his suit is so cool, as well as the rest of the League. I can not wait to see how Brainiac takes control of them to warrant the Suicide Squad to go after them.
The customization for the Suicide Squad and the weapons looks and seems truly insane. I can not wait to see and mess about the customization when I finally play the game.
Another major thing I loved is simply the post-launch content. The developers are continuing to put out content for the game. I hate going back to this but Marvel’s Avengers had a great story, but post-launch DLC, delays, and missions for online were either boring, short, or repetitive. I hope that this game doesn’t follow suit.
Honestly, I can not wait to play this game. It looks fun, it looks great, and I just believe that I’ll have fun with it. Going back to Marvel’s Avengers, I had nearly 200 hours played on it, and that was repetitive, so if the content changes and is great, I expect my hours to be longer.
