What I Liked

1. Seeing Jordan be properly trained by his dad was something I was looking forward to seeing. Obviously, he has had some training but the majority came from Sam so it’s nice to see Clark showing him the ropes.

2. Michael Bishop has done amazingly at taking on the role of Jonathon. I can imagine it’s never easy taking over a previous actor, but this recast was done very well.

3. I love that Sam and Natalie are building a relationship. I tend to forget that on her own planet Natalie’s family was Lois’ family and I can’t even imagine how painful that is for her, so for Sam to want to be there for her, the way her grandad was is extremely sweet.

4. I love how this show lays the groundwork pretty early on. It appears our new villain is Bruno Mannheim. I don’t really know a lot about this character yet to make any comments but it seems a lot of people in the show know his name already and he can bring back the dead so I look forward to seeing what else he brings to our screens.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report this week.

Favorite Moment

Well, they wasted no time in giving us a fight scene and introducing another villain at the same time. We see the return of Henry Miller but he has been given powers, similar to Superman’s, and has been sent to attack him. The fight scene was pretty great despite a small slip-up with CGI. This obviously leaves a lot of questions though as to how he’s out of prison and how he has powers. There was some amazing CGI throughout this scene as well, the bridge collapsing looked so real it was insane.

Standout Character

For our first episode, the standout is going to be Superman himself. Seeing him train Jordan and his fight with Henry Miller was certainly a good way to start off the season.

Verdict

A really good start for the Season. It certainly set the premise of what to expect going forward which I love about this show. The recast for Jonathon was very well done which was something I was a little bit unsure of when the series launched. Overall, it’s brilliant to see the show back for another season.
