Season 1 Chapter 7 “An old rival extends an invitation for The Mandalorian to make peace.”
What I Liked?
1. Greef Karga gets in touch with The Mando to explain how things have went back in his town since The Mando turned it upside down. We see that the Empire have took control of it and Stormtroopers are everywhere in it. Greef offers Mando a once in a lifetime deal.
2. After a season of being by himself with a baby… We get to see Mando go back and recruit past people he’s helped… like Cara Dune or Kuiil. They help Mando and Greef throughout the episode.
3. The Mando and the crew settle down for the night but are quickly attacked by some flying creatures… they manage to fight them off but Greef gets a slash on his arm and is poisoned and it’s quickly spreading. Finally we get to see one of baby Yoda’s abilities and we see him completely heal Greef.
4. Greef, Mando and Cara are looking over at the town when the new guild members slowly pull out their guns until Greef kills them both. We see him essentially switch sides… he was going to betray Mando but when baby Yoda healed him his mind changed.
5. Cara and Greef take Mando in handcuffs to the Client and they speak until the bar gets destroyed with The Client and the Stormtroopers all dying. We come to find out a squadron of Deathtroopers are standing outside. We also get to see the actual person who’s in charge of obtaining baby Yoda.
6. Kuiil is trying to ride quickly back to Mando’s ship to get off planet and protect baby Yoda but the empire has hacked Mando’s comms and 2 troopers on speederbikes set off to find Kuiil with the ending being a seemingly dead Kuiil and the Stormtrooper picking up baby Yoda.
What I Disliked?
Nothing to report.
Favourite Moment
Something I did not expect to see at all is seeing baby Yoda use the force choke on Cara Dune when Cara and Mando are having an arm wrestle.
Standout Character
For me this week goes to Gree Karga… he completely switched sides and saved The Mando even though he did shoot him at the beginning of the season but Greef understands why when baby Yoda heals him.
The Verdict
An absolutely incredible episode.. baby Yoda using new abilities and trying to fly the ship was great to see. Finally met the deathtroopers and the new villain of the season. The team up between Mando, Cara and Greef was actually decent to see as well.
