We provide you with all of the updates from day 2. A lot of this is really just announcements of things that are happening in the Star Wars universe. Unfortunately, there are no trailers to show.
The Mandalorian isn’t just about Din Djarin anymore
IGN spoke to Rick Famuyiwa about The Mandalorian. It has now been confirmed that Din Djarin is no longer the “title character”. The show is also no longer about Din and Grogu’s adventures. The show is going to be more about the Mandalorian people although it’s likely Din will still be the “star” character of the show, as well as Grogu.
To be honest, this makes sense. I feel like the show is literally titled The Mandalorian, it’s understandable that the show will focus more on Mandalore and its people instead of just one person. There’s only so far they could take it if they just focused on Din, whereas with this direction, the possibilities are almost endless.
I think that’s been interesting as we’ve been on the journey of the show, and now that we’re at this point, is that, what does that title mean?

Grand Admiral Thrawn will be played by Lars Mikkelsen
Lars Mikkelsen made an appearance at the event. It has now been confirmed that Mikkelsen will portray Thrawn in the upcoming Ahsoka season, debuting the character in live-action for the very first time. He joins Katee Sackhoff in bringing their animated counterpart to live-action.
Further Ahsoka castings
Joining the Ahsoka series will be Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno, and Diana Lee Inosanto. Ray Stevenson was shown in the Ahsoka trailer portraying a Dark Jedi by the name of Baylan Skoll. While Ivanna Sakhno will be portraying Shin.
Diana Lee Inosanto will be reprising her role in the series as Morgan Elsbeth, a character she played in the second season of The Mandalorian. She will be linked to Grand Admiral Thrawn. David Tennant will return to Star Wars to voice Huyang the droid.
The Lando Calrissian series is definitely still happening
Kathleen Kennedy has spoken to IGN and confirmed that the Lando series is still happening that stars Daniel Glover. Glover portrayed Lando in the 2018 Solo movie.
Honestly, I don’t care too much about this. It’s the same as the Solo movie. It just isn’t needed and I don’t think a Lando series will be that interesting. Obviously, as Star Wars fans, we’ll watch it and most likely enjoy it but I feel like they could put that budget into a much more interesting character.
Rogue Squadrons canceled but not really?
Rogue Squadrons was announced in 2020 as a movie but 3 years on, we never heard anything. Kathleen Kennedy has spoken to IGN and confirmed that the movie isn’t happening but it’s something they still talk about. So, effectively, it’s canceled and may be revived in the future.
Rogue Squadron, that definitely is something that we still talk about. Whether it’s a movie, or whether it ends up being in the series space, that’s definitely something.
