Beware, this movie will contain spoilers for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Miles Morales catapults across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. When the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles must redefine what it means to be a hero.
Overview
Into the Spider-Verse is one of my favorite Spider-Man films, I absolutely loved it so waiting for Across the Spider-Verse to release was a nightmare but finally it is here and I have watched it Oh my goodness, what a movie.
I won’t lie, it was hard to avoid early reviews, leaks, spoilers, and anything to do with this movie. I watched the trailers so I knew the film’s premise, but that was it. I went into this movie completely open-minded and I was rocked with just how well the movie was crafted.
Across the Spider-Verse is essentially the beginning of a two-part movie. This movie set an excellent standard of what they wanted the story to be, a growing experience for Miles that is an up-and-down, emotionally-driven story that will ultimately make him a great Spider-Man.
Story
The story was told to perfection. Not only did it establish a fantastic story right from the beginning but the story pushed just how important family is to a Spider-Man, whether that be Peter, Miles, Gwen, or Miguel.
I absolutely loved the story. It didn’t necessarily go through the story fast or jumped back and forth to different parts of it, it slowed nicely, told each story perfectly, and introduced a fantastic villain who was ultimately tied into the first movie.
The story was a surprise, it told you that Miles wasn’t meant to be a Spider-Man, the spider that bit him was from another universe and was meant for someone else meaning that Miles is an anomaly. This is the story that will set Miles to prove every single Spider-Man in the Spider-Verse wrong. That he deserves to be a hero, that he IS a hero.
Characters
The characters in this movie were fantastic whether they had screen time, speaking roles, or just simply in the background. Every character was unique and different and the animation for them was severely different from each other.
Obviously, this movie is a huge Miles Morales story so his character has been delivered perfectly by Shameik Moore. The introduction to Spider-Man 2099 voiced by Oscar Isaac in the previous film was catapulted to insane heights in this movie. He was fantastic.
I can’t say much about every single Spider-Man in this movie, as they were literally hundreds of them. What I will say is that the character we saw in this movie were insanely great animated and live-action.

Hype
The hype for this movie has been at an all-time high and is continuing the grow with the release and the reaction on Social Media. The box office on Friday hit $40 million-plus sales with the prediction of it hitting $100 million.
The hype from the audience and critics alike is insanely great, on Rotten Tomatoes the critics have given it a 96% and the audience score is sat at a high 97%. That is insane.
Favorite Moments
1. The fight between Miles and Spot. It was hilarious and action-packed. The back-and-forth funny lines from each character were hilarious, it made you feel kind of sorry for Spot because of his backstory but ultimately this was a character that will give Miles a great fight in the next movie.
2. The chase scene with Miles and the rest of the Spider-Men. Seeing all these different types of Spider-Man wanting to capture Miles is insane. I loved seeing different types, animated, avatar, live-action, car, and dinosaur.
3. The scenes involving all the families. We have seen Miles and his parents, Miles and his mother from another dimension. We have Gwen finally telling her father that she is Spider-Woman. We have Peter B. Parker with his family and a new baby. It was just fantastic.
4. Gwen stands up for what is right. She tells the Spider-Men that she thought they were the good guys when they cast her out of the syndicate. We then get to see her takedown, Ben Reilly on Miles’ Earth while he’s on a different Earth.
5. On the wrong Earth, we see Miles speak with his mother until his uncle Aaron walks in alive. He notices that Miles doesn’t have his dreads in and Miles hugs him. They go on a “mission” but Aaron captures and ties up Miles and shows him the Prowler who unmasks himself as this Earth’s Miles. With his father dead and no Spider-Man on this Earth, it’s a very villain-oriented Earth.
Dislikes
Absolutely nothing to dislike.

1000000000000% Yes. This movie is the perfect Spider-Man movie. When I say this, I mean that this is the type of story that truly makes someone Spider-Man, a story that truly shows you just how much a person is willing to give to be a hero.
