Beware, this movie review will contain spoilers for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts!!!
During the ’90s, a new faction of Transformers – the Maximals – join the Autobots as allies in the battle for Earth.
Overview
As a huge fan of the Transformers franchise, I was absolutely hyped for the release of this movie. The hype was definitely worth it. I managed to stay away from pretty much every spoiler there was whether that was on TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and more.
The hardest thing for me was simply watching the trailers once and leaving it there, that is all I needed to stay hyped for this movie. Although I did see some images of the cars in some behind-the-scenes photos of the Transformers in Peru.
Rise of the Beasts is simply a new beginning. What I mean by this is that this movie seemingly confirms a new universe, the Hasbro universe. The ending of this movie introduced GI Joe. That’s right, GI Joe. Insane.
Story
The story was actually really interesting. Compared to previous installments in the Transformers franchise, the stories always seemed to lack that certain something. This film had it. The story was focused merely on Noah stealing Mirage (New Transformer) and seemingly ending up on a mission to save the universe.
Even at the beginning of the story, it didn’t feel slow when viewers were learning about the new human main character. It had a fantastic pace to it. The story delivered a perfect relationship between Noah and his brother, we truly got to see that he cares about him so much.
The story also delivered a unique perspective from Optimus Prime. He was completely different in this movie. One of the major parts of his story was him seemingly blaming himself for the Autobots being trapped on earth and ultimately a certain yellow Autobots death. (he returned).
Characters
The humans in this movie were actually written really well. None of them had any motivation to be the center of attention. Previous human main characters such as Sam and Cade always had those moments where they pretty much threw that they were the main guy. It was dumb. I didn’t get that feeling from Noah.
The Autobots were absolutely great. We spoke about Prime before, now let’s talk about Bumblebee. He wasn’t the main Autobot in this movie. In the matter of fact, he was barely in it. Which allowed the viewers to get to know and fall in love with Mirage. Voiced by Pete Davidson, Mirage was absolutely fantastic, caring, and hilarious, and he became a protector and friend to Noah like Bee did with Sam, and somewhat Prime did with Cade.
The Terrorcons were absolutely brutal. I was more afraid of Scourge than I was of Megatron. I even believe that Scourge is the best villain in the entire Transformers franchise. I mean his introduction to Earth was literally him killing Bee.

Hype
The hype around this movie has been honestly, quite quiet. I’ve only seen people talk about the movie when trailers, images, or interviews were happening with the movie. The movie is looking to bring in $50 to $60 million in the box office weekend. Although, Across the Spider-Verse might have something to say about that.
Favorite Moments
1. Noah steals Mirage and then goes on a wild joyride with Mirage showcasing his well… Mirage ability. The two then become “boys” and head onto a mission together. The two bounded so well that it was really well written.
2. The Autobots fight the Terrorcons to stop them from gaining the key. This whole fight scene was really well done, shot incredibly well, and this entire scene is the reason why I believe Scourge is better than Megatron… He KILLS Bee. What is a better way of introducing yourself to Optimus Prime and Earth?
3. Optimus Prime wants revenge and goes after Scourge while Mirage and the rest try to get away with the key. This was a scene very reminiscent of Transformers 2 when Prime absolutely wrecks some Decepticons on the motorway.
4. The entire end battle. While the trailers showed that there was a lot of fighting going on in this scene. Seeing it in all of it’s glory was so much better. We had team-ups with Prime and Primal working together. Mirage went toe-to-toe with Scourge to protect and distract him so Noah and Elena can stop Unicron from coming to Earth. Mirage ultimately sacrifices himself to save Noah but in return, gives Noah a suit of armor to go against Scourge with Prime.
5. Bee’s return from the dead. It wouldn’t be a Transformers movie with a scene of Bee showing off his fighting abilities when he jumps out of the plane absolutely blasting “Don’t call it a comeback” while destroying robots on the way down. What a badass scene.
6. The ending. Noah goes for a job and the interviewer mentions his international job with the “big guys” to which Noah responds he doesn’t know what he means. The interviewer then gives Noah a card and opens a secret entrance. Noah flips the card to reveal the GI Joe symbol. WHAT

Hands down I would recommend this movie. In fact, I have already told 3 people to watch this movie.
Verdict
Without a shadow of a doubt, this movie is a fantastic, outstanding, outlandish, and surprising action-packed movie. Rise of the Beasts has become the best Transformers movie in a short time. I am looking forward to seeing future installments and crossovers.
