According to Deadline, The CW has renewed Superman and Lois for a fourth season and it doesn’t bring me any form of comfort in the news that follows.
According to the report, the show will feature a shorter-length season with 10 episodes.
It’s also been rumored to be subject to budget cuts as well and that this will mean some recurring cast members won’t return. We haven’t been able to confirm or deny these rumors as of yet.
We know the season length is correct but if you add the budget cuts into it, it does tell me from the get-go that season 4 will be the last.
DC has been on a rampage in the last year canceling so many shows including Batwoman, Titans, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and many more.
It makes sense Superman and Lois will suffer the same fate as the rest with one more season considering the only show on The CW’s roster now is Gotham Knights which hasn’t been well received.
It remains to be seen of course but it’s expected season 3 will end on a cliffhanger so it’s nice to know if this does happen, we’ll get to see the story play out.
We also expect Lex Luthor to be the villain in season 4, one of Superman’s main arch villains so it does also scream the show won’t go past season 4.
