Seemingly out of nowhere, DC is allowing the Suicide Squad to be made into an anime.
The new anime series titled Suicide Squad Isekai was revealed at Anime Expo 2023 and it debuted with a trailer you can see below.
Suicide Squad rampages into Japanese anime in SUICIDE SQUAD ISEKAI, an all-new original anime series collaboration with Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio!
While the trailer is short, it does feature anime-style versions of Harley Quinn and the one and only Joker. The trailer also hints that the series will follow the Isekai name and transport the characters to another world.
This new series could be a new entry in James Gunn’s Elseworlds strategy for DC which is not tied to the mainline DC Universe.
While they did announce the series and showcase a brief trailer for the series, no release date has been announced but If I was to guess, it would be 2024 at the earliest.
