What I Liked
1. The episode begins with G’iah laid out on the floor “dead”, we get to see some flashbacks from a previous episode where she found the machine that Gravik was building with the scientist, G’iah reads her mind which leads to G’iah giving herself powers because she knows Gravik will kill her.
2. We get a flashback scene to 2012, where we see Avengers 1 Nick Fury going on a date with his wife. She speaks to him about the battle of New York and that she had a “feeling” that he was in some way, shape, or form involved.
3. Fury is listening in on a conversation between his wife and “Rhodey”, who is in fact a Skrull, and Gravik is ordering her to kill Fury. She tells him that Fury is broken since he returned from the blimp. Rhodey mentions the Undertaker and DDT’ing Fury of the top rope when he fired him.
4. Fury asks his wife to explain the story of how she chose the skin she is wearing. She explains that it was a doctor and she was dying, she visited her every day until it was only a matter of hours. She explains that she buried her at sea, at her request, and then assumed her life, playing the long game to get to Fury. Fury and his wife both shoot at each other, both shots missed.
5. Fury goes to Rhodey’s apartment. Telling him that there is someone really close to the US President and that they are a Skrull. Rhodey shows Fury the video of him killing Maria Hill and that he’ll do his best to keep the video from leaking.
What I Disliked
Honestly, I have nothing to report.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment would be Gravik attacking the US President’s convoy. The Skrulls put up a fight against the Secret Service, we see that Rhodey is completely fine with it all because as we know now, he is a Skrull.
We finally get to see just how powerful Gravik has become. We see him using Groot’s powers and the villain’s powers from Iron Man 3. The men that are protecting the President see Talos slowly turning into a Skrull, they go to shoot but Fury tells them he is with him. Gravik begins to carry an injured Talos, he stabs him causing Fury to shoot him in the face to no effect.
Standout Character
I have to go Fury. He was the main character and stood out a lot in this episode because of how well he learned about Rhodey.
Verdict
Overall, a great episode from start to finish. Truly learning that Rhodey was a Skrull and was replaced sometime during the events of this show and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series is very interesting. The action at the end of the episode was outstanding and truly made you fear what Gravik can do.
