Over the past few days, I’ve seen the same rumor pop up on my social media pages and it got me thinking. Secret Invasion has been a fantastic series so far, we’re four episodes deep into the series with 2 more episodes left to go.
The rumor I’ve been seeing is that in episode 6, apparently, 4 Avenger-level characters will appear within the episode to help Nick Fury out against the Super Skrulls. Now, I’m not fully on board with this theory, as I personally don’t think we will see a bunch of cameos from Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, maybe one but not four.
Now, for me personally, this rumor fits right into the category that Daisy/Quake from Agents of SHIELD will be appearing in episode 3 of the show which we know did not happen, but who do I think could show up in episode 6?
We know Fury is basically alone. Spoiler warning, everyone Fury has asked to help is dead, Maria Hill got killed in episode 1, Rhodey is a Skrull, his wife is working with Gravik, and in the latest episode, we see Gravik stick a knife through the chest of Talos, seemingly killing him.
4. Captain America
Now, we know that sometime between Secret Invasion and The Falcon and the Winter Solder Rhodey was captured by Gravik and had a Skrull replace him to live out his life, get close to the President, and more. Bringing Captain America into the show to give Fury answers on his time with Rhodey in his own show would be very helpful, and we know Captain America has the means to go up against some Super Skrulls.
3. US Agent
We know that the Thunderbolts will be receiving their own story within a movie in the next couple of years, we know the line-up of the roster and I believe 2 of the members could be sent by Valentina to “clean” up the mess, and even cover the whole thing up as her character is described as a darker Nick Fury.
2. Bucky
Similar to US Agent, Bucky could be sent by Valentina to help US Agent with covering it up. Super Skrulls are powerful, and they have a range of different powers from within the MCU, Groot, Cull Obsidian, the Extremists, and Frostbite. Bucky has the edge in tactics, military expertise, and power with his metal arm.
1. Red Hulk
Although, I do not believe that Fiege would want to debut Red Hulk in the show and instead wait for the fourth Captain America movie. My thinking is that we’ll see the Super Skrull with all the powers and will essentially be unstoppable, Fury is just a man, he can’t stop this. With the US President being a major part of the show, Red Hulk could appear, demolish the Super Skrulls and disappear. We won’t get the reveal that it is Harrison Ford, we’ll just see Red Hulk.
This also stems from the fact that Fiege himself has stated that Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross will be the President of the United States of America within the fourth Captain America movie. So my question is, what happens to the man who is the President now within Secret Invasion? Is he a Skrull and this attack on his convoy in the last episode just a decoy, or does he die?
