After a true battle against a heavy-hitting Baylan, fans saw Ahsoka knocked off the cliffs at the end of the fourth episode, Fans got to witness Ahsoka wake up within the World between Worlds and eventually saw her in front of Anakin Skywalker, her former master.
Immediately, I saw some things “off” with this Anakin, and a lot more people also noticed the same things. This is where the major theories come into play.
Now the noticeable things are;
1. Lightsaber
If you notice on Anakin’s hip, it isn’t the original Skywalker lightsaber will all know. This one looks darker, and more like Darth Vader’s lightsaber.
2. The Mechanical Hand
Secondly is the mechanical hand that Anakin has. We know he lost it within episode 2 in a duel against Count Dooku. He has it here so this means he isn’t a Force ghost.
3. Scar
Now, I didn’t notice this one. I need to go back and watch it again but I have seen a ton of comments stating that Anakin doesn’t have the scar on his face Some people have denied this saying it was only the lighting that made it look like he hasn’t got it. So I’m going to ignore this point.
Now, the theories that is floating around is that this could be another version of Anakin. He has his Revenge of the Sith gear on so people are saying this could have been the Anakin we see who Palpatine knights as Lord Vader. If it is then episode 5 will be intense.
Another theory that is going around is that this is the Anakin we see on Mustafar, but this theory comes from the “rumors” or “leaks” stating that we’ll see a battle on Mustafar, only with Ahsoka instead of Obi-Wan.
My personal favorite theory is that this is the Son. The Son, also known as The Brother was a male Force wielder who resided in the ethereal of Mortis with his family, The Father and the Daughter. This family possessed a unique connection to the Force with The Son embodied the dark side whereas his sister was attuned to the light. Their Father maintained a delicate balance between his children.
Now the theory is that this Anakin we see is simply The Son coming back to engage with Ahsoka. His sister literally gave Ahsoka her life force in The Clone Wars, The World between Worlds is a domain protected by the Mortis Gods. So this could be the Son playing a trick on Ahsoka.
It would also be very cool to see Sam Witwere reprise his role as the Son.
Even if this is the Son who is portraying Anakin, we could get a duel between master and apprentice, and we could ideally see Ahsoka use some of Anakin’s training to defeat the Son in a battle.
