Top 5 Characters Insomniac Games Could Bring To A Video Game

If you’ve been living under a rock or are someone who ignores video games in general, you would have likely missed or seen adverts for Marvel’s Spider-Man games over the course of the last several years.

Insomniac Games hasn’t missed a beat when they’ve delivered us video games based on Peter Parker Spider-Man and of course, Miles Morales. Over the course of the last several years gamers have had an absolutely iconic game in Marvel’s Spider-Man, a short follow-up game based on Mile Morales’ early year as Spider-Man and soon-to-be-released Spider-Man 2.

In the next couple of years, Insomniac Games will expand their hero roster with the introduction of Wolverine into a brand new video game focused on that character, with yet to be revealed if it’s in the same universe as the Spidey games.

But what other characters could they bring to video game form and deliver a fantastic story about?

5. Iceman

With Wolverine coming as a game already, it’s quite clear they want to bring X-Men as a game franchise, I can’t see Insomniac Games only doing one mutant game and that’s it. I think Iceman would be a perfect game because it fits in a similar category as Miles Morales. A young hero, learning, adapting, and becoming a better hero. With Iceman, I personally think a lot of people sleep on him as a character in general. He’s powerful, in fact, he’s an “Omega Level Mutant” and that means he’s one of the most powerful mutants and he’s on the same level as Professor X, Magneto, and more.

4. The Punisher

It just makes sense. Wolverine is obviously going to be a bloody game, you can truly have Wolverine without the blood. Punisher will be the exact same only with guns. Yes, it will be a shooter game but with the right story, and the right fundamentals the game can indeed be a fantastic game. The game could allow the player to customize the Punisher’s weapon loadout and more.

3. The Winter Soldier

Similar to The Punisher, this would be a shooter game. However, this wouldn’t be in modern-day like other games. This would be after WW2 but before the 2000s. Give me a Winter Soldier game where he’s an assassin for Hydra in the ’60s or ’70s. It would be great, it would be different and would offer a different story than being the typical hero.

2. Gambit

Gambit has a close relationship with Wolverine, to do a Gambit game, Insomniac Games would need to follow the same path as they went with Spider-Man. Introduce Wolverine in a game and have Gambit appear as a “side character.” Then do a spin-off game for that character. It would work, It’s kind of obvious that Gambit won’t make his live-action debut anytime soon so give us a game focused on him. He’s an underrated character.

1. Blade

Straight up, Blade would make a really great game. We had Blade games on the PS2 back in the day so to bring him back on PS5 and use the game engines we have today would be sick. It would give that freedom that was not available back then. It would bring that vampire/magic element to Marvel games and if it was connected to Spider-Man it would make sense for them to introduce other vampire characters, especially now they are introducing Kraven the Hunter into the mix.

Honestly, whatever character Insomniac Games gets given to create a video game will be outstanding. I fully trust them to deliver a special story, great action, and a fun ride.
