Loki “Ouroboros” Review

Season 2 Episode 1 – Loki finds himself lost to time and torn, quite literally, between past, present and future.

What I Liked

1. I love that they’ve delved straight in from last season. No sidetracking or going off-topic, just got right back into the mess Kang has created!

2. From what I can gather Loki is being pulled between the past, present, and future. It’s actually so heartbreaking to see such a strong character just be absolutely pulled apart and shattered however I have to give praise to Tom Hiddleston for this. We’ve seen his character at his worst, a cold, sadistic villain, and yet he manages to make you feel unbelievable empathy for him anyway.

3. Great scene from Hunter B-15 as she confronts the TVA about what they’ve really been doing to the timeline by pruning people and that everyone in there is just variants of people who actually existed on the timeline. Her speech has an effect as the TVA is banned from pruning people effective immediately.

4. Loki and Mobius are finally reunited and of course the chemistry is still there. I love these two together, the sarcasm and humor really does work well to make great tv!

5. I’m not even going to attempt to explain this scene but I have to put it in here because it was brilliant. Mobius and Loki visit a guy called OB, this entire encounter is both brilliant and hilarious. The logic behind the scene has been so well thought out.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report this week.

Favorite Moment

Mobius saving Loki towards the end of the episode really does show how far the pair’s friendship has come since this series started. I think to make it even more heartwarming Loki would probably never expect anyone to care about him enough to do that.

Standout Character

Mobius has to take it this week! It was a tough call between him and Loki but him saving Loki towards the end there has to be at the top. What a guy.

Verdict

A fantastic start to the season! I appreciate the lack of time wasted and the continuation from the previous episode. I’m excited to see what happens next week.
