Gen V is a spinoff series from Amazon’s The Boys series set on young supes at college. The first season is well underway and will wrap up the first season come early November.
Without well the first season has been, It’s no shock that the series has already been renewed for a second season. The renewal comes just a couple weeks before the season’s finale episode which is set to debut on November 3.
The head of television at Amazon MGM Studios said “Expanding the universe of The Boys with a series as bold as Gen V has been an incredible journey for us and our wonderful partners at Sony, from our first conversation with showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, along with [executive producers] Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen, we knew Gen V would push the boundaries. Their unapologetic approach is exactly what audiences love, and it has helped Gen V become the No. 1 series on Prime Video in over 130 countries. Gen V is Prime Video’s most acquisitive new original series of 2023, and we’re excited that our incredible cast and crew are going to continue telling brave and bold stories from Gen V to our customers.”
The synopsis for the series is as follows “Gen V is set at Godolkin University, a superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes — preferably with lucrative endorsements. An incoming group of young supes discover that something sinister is going on at school, and they’re put to the test: Will they be the heroes or the villains of their stories?”
With how crazy the first season has already been, I can not wait to see what the second season has in store for us. Given how bloody each season has been for The Boys, I can only imagine this series will also follow that style and get bloodier with each season.
Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi.
