The mastermind director of Thor Ragnarok, Taika Waititi has officially confirmed the next instalment of the Thor franchise will begin filming in the summer.
News broke out at San Diego Comic Con in 2019 that Natalie Portman will be returning alongside Chris Hemsworth. She came out on stage wielding the Mjolnir, showing us that we will be seeing Lady Thor in the next movie.
Waititi explained To Variety that filming will commence in Syndney, Australia sometime in August. After asked about the current wildfires that are sweeping across parts of Australia, he said;
“I mean, I don’t know. It’s insane what’s happening down there. I just keep reading about it every day and it seems to be getting worse. It’s absolute chaos.”
Fans are wondering how the next movie will pan out, as the last we saw of Thor was at the end of Avengers: Endgame, on board with the Guardians of the Galaxy. No current news has been released regarding anything other than Natalie will be portraying Lady Thor.
We also know Tessa Thompson will be reprising her role as Valkyrie.
Thor: Love and Thunder currently has an expected release date of the 5th November, 2021.
