What I Liked

1. The episode begins with us seeing Omni-Man just after the events of the season one finale. He’s broken, he’s lost mentally, he’s just flying through space endlessly. You can see him go through change while doing so, growing a beard, flying past moons, etc. He then saves the alien race who lied and brought Mark to him last episode.

2. Omni-Man wants to show Mark something, for the people because they need his help. Omni-Man brings Mark to his home where he meets Omni-Man’s new wife and his baby brother. Mark was always going to feel one way about this, outraged.

3. Omni-Man explains that a Viltrumite can only have a baby with a similar species, for example, a human. Omni-Man tells Mark that by now, the Viltrumites will know he’s left his post on Earth and that they will come to find him and wipe out the species. With both Omni-Man and Mark they can stop them.

4. Back on Earth, we see Atom Eve have a fight with someone who broke into a base for the supes. Atom Eve begins to goad the criminal into fighting even more, causing people to get in harm’s way. This is when the criminal begins to attack Eve when she tries to save a family in the water. She manages to pull them from the water, but it could be worse.

5. Mark receives a threat from the Viltrumites. They tell him to return to Earth and take up the task that was given to Nolan. He can kill a few humans or they can kill Millions when they arrive.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

Three Viltrumite soldiers arrive on the planet, Omni-Man fights two of them while Mark gets his new family away to safety. This is when we see a big soldier arrive and begin to fight Mark. Omni-Man arrives and begins a brutal fight. Omni-Man wins the fight by slicing the soldier’s stomach open and impaling him with a rock.

Nolan and Mark take the fight to the remaining two Viltrumite soldiers. Nolan and a soldier begin a fierce fight while Mark begins to take a beating from the other soldier. Nolan tells Mark to fight like a Viltrumite. If he doesn’t they will die and a lot of other people will too. After Mark gets stabbed, Omni-Man saves him but while he’s walking to check on him, the other soldier who previously “died” returns and you can hear the snap of Nolan’s spine.

Standout Character

Omni-Man takes the standout this week. The fact that he wanted to show Mark his new family and have him help defeat the potential threat of the Viltrumites was amazing. Nolan tells Mark to remember the good he did and that he should read his books.

Verdict

Honestly, one of the best episodes of the show thus far and the best episode of season 2. Without a doubt. The story was so impactful and powerful, and honestly, it was emotional. The action was second to none. It was bloody, it was messy, and it was great.
