Top 10 Live-Action Star Wars Moments

Star Wars is one of the biggest franchises in history with rich plots and characters at every angle. We’ve got animations, comics, books, movies, TV shows, and everything else. We want to look at the live-action aspect and give you our top 10 favorite moments from the shows and movies side.

1. Darth Vader saves Luke Skywalker from Emperor Palpatine

I can only imagine what some cinemas were like around the world when Darth Vader finally turned on the Emperor to save his son. This was an iconic moment in all of Star Wars and deserves to be on almost every list when it comes to the top 10 moments. When you even consider what Vader did and all of the people he killed, it was a fantastic redemption story.

2. Jedi and the Clones rescue Padme, Obi-Wan, and Anakin on Geonosis

I always remember this scene. Seeing the Clone Army arrive on Geonosis along with the Jedi Order to save Anakin, Padme, and Obi-Wan was simply stunning, seeing all the different colored lightsabers, and seeing the Clone Wars actually begin was spectacular.

3. Luke Skywalker saves Din Djarin, Grogu, and the team from the Death Troopers

Easily one of the best scenes in television history. The fact we got a de-aged Luke Skywalker to turn up and save the day was something special. That entire scene was so well constructed from the moment his X-Wing lands to the elevator scene. I can watch this scene over and over again and never get bored with it.

4. Ben Solo fights against the Knights of Ren

Now, I will say, the Knights of Ren was so badly done compared to their comic-book parts. I love this scene. This is a scene where we truly get to see Ben Solo, grown up and ready to fight. Seeing this version compared to his comic counterpart was interesting. I feel like this is overshadowed because of the hate that the sequel movies receive.

5. “No, I am your father”

This is another one I wished I was able to see in the cinema (I wasn’t born when this came out) but it’s iconic. It’s one of the most talked about scenes when it comes to the franchise and paved the way for future projects (prequels and sequels alike). A moment truly up there with one of the best moments in history.

6. “Hello there”

Honestly, this scene hits differently after you watch the Clone Wars. Seeing how ruthless, brutal, and honestly, overpowered General Grievous was in that, seeing the Jedi that was sent to kill him and the Jedi killed by him was ruthless but seeing that Obi-Wan was the one to take down Grievous single-handedly showed how amazing Obi-Wan was as a Jedi.

7. “You were my brother Anakin, I loved you”

The Prequels tend to get a bit of grief at times but nobody can fault this entire final segment of the film. After a long and entertaining duel, Obi-Wan delivers one of the most heartfelt lines in the entire franchise. You really do just feel for him at this point knowing he hasn’t just lost everything but he’s lost the only family he had.

8. Darth Sidious destroys 3 Jedi in seconds

This scene truly showed how trained and patient Sidious was. He knew how to get into the correct position to control everything. This scene showed the Sith’s powers. That scream you hear from Sidious was actually an ability that the Sith used to disorient their opponents. The Jedi in this scene were no slouches either, they were skilled duelists and to see them struck down within seconds truly showed how scary Palpatine was.

9. Kylo Ren kills his own father

The moment Han Solo walks on that bridge you knew it was game over but you didn’t want it to be. I think for me more than anything, what makes this scene even more hard-hitting is Chewbacca’s scream the moment Han goes down. The Sequels do have their flaws but there are moments like this that they definitely did get right.

10. Jabba’s Palace in Return of the Jedi

This scene truly showed the training Luke went through, it showed how much he had grown between the movies. Seeing Luke just walk into a crime boss’s den and ask for his friends and then kill the giant Rancor with the use of the Force was amazing. It then results in Jabba’s death.
