HBO Max did a fantastic job with the first season making it one of the first true video games to live-action project. The series followed the events of the game perfectly and proved to be successful, whereas other projects tend to try something different and, more often than not, fail.
Last of Us season 2 is still quite a distance away but most fans know that season 2 will follow the events of the second game, which introduced Abby as a main character within the game.
For those that haven’t played the second game, Abby was subject to a lot of controversy and the voice actress received death threats as a result (which is pathetic).
Last of Us 2 was a memorable and immersive experience in my opinion, one I will likely never forget, and I can’t wait for the remaster.
In the current news, Kaitlyn Dever has officially been cast as Abby.
I’ve seen some comments mentioning that they look nothing alike but in reality, Ellie looked nothing alike from video game to the live-action series so I’m okay with this as long as we get THAT scene done well. You know which scene I’m referring to.
Some spoilers coming now.
This does lead me to believe Pedro Pascal won’t be a lead character within the second season and will instead be a regular due to what happens which is fine by me.
Dever has featured in quite a few projects but I suspect Last of Us 2 will likely be the biggest yet. I’m excited to see how Dever brings the role of Abby to life and I think she’ll do an incredible job.
Roll on the second season, we cannot wait.
