Season 1 Episode 10 “While Gotham busies itself reacting to Batwoman’s awkward encounter, Alice celebrates her ultimate act of vengeance; a devastated Mary focuses on Jacob Kane’s trial; Sophie seeks advice about her love life from someone unexpected.”
What I Liked
01. An Oliver Queen mention from the news on TV, plus a Captain America mention. It’s always weird when they mention Marvel heroes.
02. Mary going in on Kate like that was well deserved, and well needed. I have said this multiple times in my reviews that Kate was played so easily by Alice. It’s about time someone really hit home with the truth, and no better person than Mary to deliver it.
03. Kate thinking she could crash a party full of teenagers asking where the “terrorist” is with zero evidence is hilarious. It should be a dislike, but it was far too funny. Clever though, she still manages to find the culprit out of nothing.
04. As Alice is about to kill the hacker girl, she forces Kate to unmask. The reaction from the hacker was pretty decent. Alice was brutal here as well. She is trying to make her out Kate to the world or the school disco will blow up. Obviously Alice rigged it full of C4.
05. After Kate is “outed“ as Batwoman, they let the girl go. Just when you think Kate will allow Alice to worm her way out, she delivers a solid punch and traps her to the table. It turns out the message she sent was warning those of the bomb threat that was in the school.
What I Disliked
01. She stops the train, just like that? That was ridiculous. There’s no way even the strongest metal in the world would stop the train going that fast, just like that. The people onboard only slightly jerked after it, I can’t even deal with that.
02. The hacker nearly crashed a train full of people. Forces people into giving her money unless she will release peoples secrets – only to be let off by Kate with a terrible sob story. Although she was still given community service, it’s still a let-off considering. What happened to those people who did put money into that link?
Favourite Moment
Beth, Alice, whoever that was at the end. I did have it down as a dislike purely because its a case of “please just let this ark end!” This was interesting. She claimed to be Beth, but we know Alice is in prison. We know Alice had the short blonde hair at the beginning so we know it couldn’t be Mouse. I’m confused. I’m excited to see how this plans out though.
Standout Character
I have to give it to the Bat herself this episode. She stole it this episode. Especially not backing down to Alice anymore which is always a plus. I think Crisis has gave her so much more perspective which is always a positive.
Verdict
One of the strongest episodes of the season. Back and forth with twists and turns, it had so much to shout about. I predicted a predictable episode at the beginning, however it kept throwing me off. A solid episode!
