Filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg is back as director for the upcoming Predator movie, although not an official sequel to the 2022 hit “Prey”.
Trachtenberg, who earned an Emmy nomination for his 2022 Prey movie is returning to the sci-fi action horror franchise for a new installment in the long line of Predator movies.
The upcoming Predator movie will be titled “Badlands” and unlike the Prey movie which was set in 1719 and centered around a young Comanche woman, Badlands will be a brand new story.
While plot details are being kept a secret, this one is said to be set sometime in the future. Like Prey, however, it will follow the same formula and have a female lead once again.
The project is said to be aiming for a July start date for production.
Badland isn’t the only Predator project in the works. With success from Prey, the studio feels safe enough to continue the projects with many projects in the works with Trachtenberg at the center of it all.
