What I Liked

01. I love how Master Chief is taking things into his own hands. Going after the Covenant against the orders of Ackerson. This is giving Master Chief more personality. This is showing that he does the right thing, even though people don’t see it that way.

02. The Chief just wants to prove that the Covenant is on Reach, he wants to find out what happened to Cobalt. He even went as far as to fake flight plans to take the Spartan Team on an unauthorized mission onto Reach.

03. I do like that even though Master Chief is THAT GUY, people, his team, his higher-ups, and more do not believe what he is saying. To the point where he’s relieved of duty until he can pass a few tests.

04. I want to know more about Ackeron’s plans. He’s stopping Chief from doing anything, he’s controlling the boss. Ackerson reveals that they have lost this world, they will fight but they will lose, he tells the Admiral to leave Reach and fight another day.

What I Disliked

Honestly, the Soren/ Kwan storyline, I just don’t have any interest in this story as of yet. I hope this changes in the near future.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be when John is being escorted for a medical check-up and he tells the guards “sorry” before knocking the two guards out with one punch each. This was just hilarious.

Standout Character

The standout for me would be John. He wants to do the right thing, he wants to take the fight to the Covenant but no one is listening to him and setting him up to be this “crazy” guy.

Verdict

Overall, a decent episode which is the beginning of the right for Reach. This episode opened up the can that is Ackerson, showing there is something wrong with him as seen at the end of the episode. I can’t wait to see where the next episode goes.
