Daredevil: Born Again Wraps Filming But Still Won’t Be Released Until 2025

Daredevil: Born Again has been through a couple of creative changes since the decision to bring the character back to Disney. We have seen Matt Murdock already within the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

The show began filming in January 2024 so it hasn’t had a long filming process. I suspect this is due to some work already being finished initially, perhaps during or before the SAG-AFTRA strikes. Regardless, due to the way that Disney has changed things, I do have hope this will be great.

Disney has slated the show won’t be released until 2025, so we’re looking at a minimum of 9 months unless Disney brings the release forward, however, it’s very unlikely.

Forbes gave their estimate based on Echo and Hawkeye’s timelines from production to release.

  • Echo started filming in April 2022, and finished in August 2022. So five months. Then, after post-production, it was out in January 2024. This was after a delay pushing it out of 2023. So that’s 16 months after filming wrapped.
  • Another street level show we can use is Hawkeye, which started filming in December 2020 and wrapped in April 2021, again, five months. Then, Hawkeye was released in November 2021, about seven months later.

In bigger news, it’s now confirmed Jon Bernthal will be reprising his role as Frank Castle. There’s been a lot of leaked shots from behind the scenes showing a bloody Punisher. I always had an inkling that Bernthal would get a call from the Netflix/Marvel shows as he stood out as did Daredevil. We may yet to see more signed on but for now, we can take solace in knowing Disney has taken The Punisher back. The potential is endless for what they can do now they have full creative control AND the characters are within the wider MCU.

Here’s a gallery of shots from behind the scenes;
