James Gunn has released the first look at David Corenswet as Superman and the reveal has also shown the Superman suit that he will be wearing in the Superman movie. While we wait for a better look at the suit with David Corenswet standing up, my first opinion on the suit is that it looks great.
The film which is being written and directed by James Gunn will be the beginning of the new DC cinematic universe. Gunn who leads DC Studios with Peter Safran, teased a small glimpse of the suit back in February when they announced the beginning of the filming.
“The photo above was taken on set by Jess Miglio and was entirely in-camera” Gunn posted to Threads on Monday.
While filming has begun, the filmmaker has been shooting down rumors about the movie, more often on the social media platform Threads. Production began in February and it wasn’t long until photos started to make their way onto social media with the apparent “leaked” David Corenswet in the suit, however, Gunn was quick to announce that they were doctored photos.
The Superman cast includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Nathan Fillion as the Earth-based Green Lantern Gu Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, Sara Sampaio as Eve Tessmacher, Maria Gabriela de Faria as Angela Spica, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White.
Previously titled “Superman Legacy”, it was revealed that the movie would just be titled “Superman” The movie is headed our way in July 2025.
