Sony has released a new bloody trailer for the upcoming Kraven the Hunter film starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the lead role.
Taylor-Johnson stars as Sergei Kravinoff in the film. Kraven is one of the most iconic and notorious antiheroes and one of Spider-Man’s biggest enemies.
The film’s synopsis goes as follows “Kraven the Hunter is the visceral, action-packed origin story of how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared.”
Ariana DeBose and Russell Crowe, who are both Oscar winners, star in this movie, along with Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, and Christopher Abbott.
The delays that Kraven went through allowed for reshoots to take place to “sharpen the characters and tighten the plot”. Sony is so happy with the film that they are working with J.C. Chandor again on a murder mystery film inspired by “Succession”.
Directed by J.C. Chandor from a screenplay by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and David Householter are the producers.
Teasing the film are this year’s CinemaCon, Taylor-Johnson confirmed that the film would be R-rated making it the first R-rated Sony movie by telling the audience “Will it be rated R? F*ck yes, it’s going to be rated R.”
The film is set to be released on December 13, 2024, and honestly? I can not wait for this. It’s heavily comic-accurate which is super amazing and we’re finally getting a proper comic-accurate Rhino.
