Disney+ has had a wild ride with their Star Wars shows. Only a small portion of the shows have been major hits whereas the others have brought along criticism.
Today, we’re going to take a look at them and rank them from worst to best. Understandably, this article is going to be extremely controversial and we get that – please understand this is based on our own opinion and isn’t factual.
We will only be looking at specifically the exclusive Disney+ shows, not taking into consideration anything pre-Disney+ or shorts episodes. We’re just mainly looking at the mainstream content.
7. The Acolyte
Probably one of the only selections on this list I think a lot of Star Wars fans would agree with. The Acolyte wasn’t a good show and not because of the woke nonsense I keep seeing. The story was flat, it messed with some of the lore, dedicating 2 full episodes to flashbacks and just the overall direction of the show felt off. However, despite this – I didn’t want to see the show canceled. I still believe a second season with a new director could do wonders here as it has potential. It’s a shame it never got to reach that due to wasting far too much time.
6. The Book of Boba Fett
When your best episode is an episode dedicated to an entirely different character, you know you have a problem. The Book of Boba Fett was an alright show, I enjoyed it for what it was and had fun with it. I believe Boba deserved better in this considering how feared he was as a bounty hunter. I think the show lost some of its charm and should’ve done more with the finale. A one-and-done season here is fine, I’d still ideally like to see Temuera Morrison show up again in another Star Wars show because he’s fantastic.
5. Andor
Andor was a hit-or-miss show for many Star Wars fans. While many fans wanted Andor to be great, it was a prequel show that delivered a unique look into how brutal, how powerful, and how menacing the Empire actually was. The show was slow, very slow but it did have it’s moments of great scenes and I look forward to the second season to see Andor’s story continue and how it leads into Rogue One.
4. The Bad Batch
The Bad Batch was great from the very first moment. Showing the early days of Order 66. The show delivered an in-depth look at the Clones being forced out of service and replaced with normal civilian soldiers and it showed the brutal effects of turning against the Empire. The show delivered some epic stories and action and truly showcased the Clones in a different light.
3. Ahsoka
Ahsoka was fantastic, in all regards. It showcased the legacy of Ahsoka, it introduced Rebels characters into live-action, and debuted new characters along the way expanding upon the lore of Dathomir and the Nightsisters. The show was fantastic and enjoyable throughout.
2. Obi-Wan Kenobi
Kenobi for me was one of the best TV shows I’ve watched. This is controversial, I get it – but I can’t help it. I’m a huge Darth Vader fan above anything else and also a Prequel fan so this series was the thing I wanted more than anything from the Skywalker era (besides a standalone Darth Vader in his prime series or movie). I do fully get some of the complaints but overall, I thought this show was brilliant, and seeing Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen pick up their sabers once more was heartwarming.
1. The Mandalorian
The Mandalorian is what started it all. It’s also the show that made me fall in love with the Mandalorian culture and bounty hunters within this incredible franchise. Granted, the third season wasn’t the best but the first 2 were peak Star Wars in my opinion. I still believe that the season 2 finale was one of the best TV episodes in history. It was still a close call between #2 and #1 but this edges it for us.
