Why Knull Can’t Be A One And Done Villain

With the final trailer for the final installment of the Venom franchise released a few days ago, the trailer debuted the live-action debut of Knull. Only showing the villain within a few seconds of the trailer but who is Knull?

Knull was an eldritch god of darkness and the creator of the symbiote. When he was awakened by the Celestials when they invaded his kingdom of darkness with light, Knull refused to serve as the King in Black. He had the first symbiote in the form of a sword and decapitated one of the Celestials.

Why should Knull be a bigger threat than a one-movie villain?

  • Imprisoned by an army of symbiotes who needed to form themselves into a prison the size of a planet just to restrain him
  • Burst out of said prison the instant he woke up
  • Decapitated a Celestial, later to be known as Knowhere
  • Slaughted an army of gods
  • Strangled the Silver Surfer with one hand
  • Kicked Wraith into space from his throne
  • Killed at least 3 Celestials and piloted their corpses
  • Ripped Sentry in half
  • Strangled King Thor and Stabbed King Thor in the back
  • Claws sharp enough to draw blood from All-Father Thor

He also fought the Silver Surfer and won, he only lost to Silver Surfer when Ego was involved. He fought King Thor and Dylan Brock and won and fought against Eddie Brock and lost only due to Eddie Brock being the god of light.

Knull is essentially one of the most powerful villains in Marvel comics in the last few years and one of the strongest villains… period. He’s so strong that he created enough symbiotes to encase the Earth in a symbiote-like dome to stop the sunlight from getting through.

So with Sony introducing Knull into this film and Knull knowing that there is a multiverse out there, we need Marvel to use Knull as a villain going forward. We need to see more of Knull and not only have him in a Sony film as a one-and-done villain.

Now with Donny Cates, one of the creators of Knull has spoken about Venom 3 and Knull in a tweet over on X.

If this is anything to go by, one of the creators being happy with how his character is being treated then I am more than excited to see what happens with Knull.
