The Penguin series begins on Friday and it’s one of my most anticipated series of the year. Returning to the world that was created by Matt Reeves, we’re getting to witness more about the Underworld of Gotham after the events of the Batman movie.
We got introduced to The Penguin in the Batman movie played by the incredible Colin Farrell who went through a fantastic transformation of prosthetics to become the character who played an important role in the film, now we’ll witness him in this role again in his own series.
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, a.k.a. the Penguin, makes a play to seize the reins of the crime world in Gotham.
Taking place just weeks after the events of the film, we’re getting to see Oz use his brains and smarts to make a play for the city, people may think that Oz isn’t smart but he is. We’ve seen this countless times over the years.
As a character, the Penguin is such an iconic character that can hold his own show and character within live-action. This has been proven with the performance from Colin and the version of the character we got in Gotham the old TV series from a few years ago.
Obviously, with the movie releasing in a few days, reviews are coming out about the show and honestly, apart from a certain fandom who trash anything DC-related, the reviews are absolutely great to the point where people have ranked this higher than Agatha All Along.
As of the writing of this article, The Penguin is currently sat at a 89% on Rotten Tomatoes with just under 55 reviews.
Honestly, I cannot wait for this series. Expect a review for each episode every week.

Sorry to tell you but I’ve seen it and it’s dull as watching paint dry. A childish sopranos knock off with unearned violence.
