Agatha All Along “If I Can’t Reach You / Let My Song Teach You” Review

Season 1 Episode 4 – The coven faces their second trial on The Witches’ Road.

What I Liked

1. After Mrs Hart’s death, they decide as they’re digging her grave to summon a replacement green witch. Rio is summoned and it’s great but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly disappointed. I was hoping for Agatha to link up with a Midnight Suns character in Lilith who was the villain in the game but was good beforehand (wishful thinking, I know). I like this regardless though as Rio looks like she’ll be a great addition to the group.

2. As the group suffers with the curse in seemingly the next trial, Teen is picked up and thrown through a window. As he’s thrown, Agatha’s fear shows as she worries about Teen. Although he does practically get straight back up, it’s nice seeing Agatha show that she does in fact care.

3. Although Teen did get immediately up after being thrown through a window, we don’t see any impact until after the song finishes. He’s got a shard of glass impaled into his side which results in him collapsing. The coven tries their best to save him and is successful. Agatha’s face paints a picture and I still firmly believe Teen is her son.

Favorite Moment

The Ballad of the Witches Road again with full backing instrumentals, yes, please. What a catchy song this is.

Standout Character

Each character stood out in their own way in this episode but I think seeing Agatha’s caring side albeit not shown to others was great to see. It shows that perhaps Agatha isn’t as distant or lost as we’ve been led to believe since WandaVision.

Verdict

Another very good episode. I’ve never been a big fan of witchcraft and wizardry but this show hits differently. The story here was very well driven and showcased a need to move forward as they succeed with the second trial. I am looking forward to seeing Agatha regain her powers though and I hope they don’t make us wait until the last episode to showcase this.
