What I Liked

1. Clark returns home after being given the heart. It’s great to see him back hence the reason I’ve put this as a like but I really wanted to see things get much worse and then for him to return in the moment they needed him the most.

2. The training sequence for Jon by Clark was so fun. The Star Wars reference, Jon picking everything up like he’s a professional “Superman” is super entertaining. It wasn’t nice seeing Clark drop as he’s flying alongside but I guess this is to be expected.

3. Seeing Chrissy freak out was hilarious. Sarah steps in to help considering the nerves are getting the best of her. That’s the first time Chrissy has made me laugh in this series.

4. This show has a good habit of tugging on your heartstrings. The moment between Lois and Jordan was beautiful. After that phone call, it’s completely understandable why Jordan is upset. They do makeup here, or at least take the first steps toward doing so.

What I Disliked

Please, give both Jon and Jordan a proper suit. The suit Jordan wears is awful, I don’t want to see it passed over to Jon, it belongs in the bin.

Favorite Moment

A fire sets rage in Metropolis and Jordan tells Jon to head there in a hoodie so he does. As he attends there, he sees Gretchen tied against a fence within the fire fearing for her life. It appears it may be a setup as he’s ambushed until Superman shows up to save the day. What a moment!

Standout Character

Considering the man who made the biggest impact in this episode, it has to be Superman himself. Seeing him finally return was a nice touch and also seeing him in action again was long-awaited that’s for sure. I am intrigued to see how this heart storyline plays out.

Verdict

Episode 4 was perhaps the worst so far in the season, but it was also a solid episode. The bar is very high with season 4, and this is a good thing considering an episode can be weaker in comparison but still be very good. There was a lot to like about this episode, although it never lived up to the heights of the previous three. I still believe Superman coming in to save the day on his return would’ve been a better use of the buildup to his death.
