5 Reasons Why Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Needs DLC

I’ve written numerous articles about how the game has done in terms of sales – and it’s safe to say it’s done incredible for EA.

Almost 6 months on from release, we still have no word from both EA or Respawn that DLC will be coming to the game. At this point, we’re kind of on the boat that it’s not coming.

Sales were high, and EA loves money, so why is there still no mention of DLC to further increase those numbers? Who knows, it’s a crazy one.

I’m one of those that don’t mind DLC, and I’m more than happy to pay for it if the base game was good. Microtransactions on the other hand, just don’t bother. This game never included those, or loot boxes, which was so welcomed, not just by us, but the gaming community.

What could the DLC include? Well, here’s 5 things we think could add to the base game and make it even better; *please note, this thread will contain spoilers*

1. New Game+

Why this isn’t a thing is beyond me. Games like this bathe in this mode. Spider-Man and Days Gone were perfect examples of this. To an extent, I can understand they don’t want to stray the player, but isn’t that what New Game+ is designed to do?

Going through the base game with all the customizations you’ve unlocked, including the colors of the lightsaber you unlock as the story progresses. I understand the force abilities, but the actual skill unlocks, and customizations are the only ones I’d like to take with me.

It seems a little odd that it’s not even been mentioned by EA or Respawn, and I am a little disappointing. Adding this would absolutely make me go out and buy the game again.

2. Cameos

This wasn’t something that particularly bothered me at all with the exception of one. Darth Maul. Barely even mentioned, or even a look in. This is a time all that long after Order 66 in hindsight, so there’s still a lot of surviving Jedi.

Obi-Wan got a cameo but only voice, you never actually saw him. However, Maul is one that still bugs me, especially when you’re on his home planet, with his people, yet nothing.

I’m not going to go into the list of characters they could cameo as I would be here all day, but the DLC could introduce cameos for characters that I can only imagine they planned to introduce into the game alone.

3. New Planet(s)

One of the things EA has made sure has been done right since they took over the license from Disney to produce their games, is the graphics. Everything since Battlefront in 2015 has looked beautiful. Every planet, map, location looks highly professional, and you can really tell they’ve put the effort in.

Fallen Order was no different. Every planet you visited was vastly different, but all unique in their own right. They really put the effort in here, so a new planet or two within DLC could work wonders. Tattooine (Darth Maul?), even going back to Coruscant would be great.

Of course, the planets would involve a whole new story so let me get to that on my next point. However, you could still cross into the existing planets for that.

4. Finish Cal’s Story or Continue It

I’ve written this a few times so I won’t go too much into it. We know Cal is not present in the original trilogy, nor a mention, so we know his goal to restore the Jedi Order fails. So, could it be worth it just to finish his story?

I believe so. This would give the developers an opportunity to create another story for the sequel. Even if the sequel is Cal, then I’m still happy with that. The DLC could explore Cal fighting another Inquisitor. We know there’s multiple, and he only defeated two of them. Well, one, Vader wiped Trilla out.

The Inquisitors are intriguing within their own right. Especially, if the DLC story contains an up and coming Inquisitors looking to prove themselves to Vader, and the Emperor.

5. More Customisation

This was definitely the most enjoyable feature for me in the base game. The building, and playing around with different combinations with the lightsaber. I mentioned earlier in New Game+, having the option to continue with the new colors as one of the let downs, was that Cal got the crystal so late in the game, you never got to play with all the colors until late on.

The DLC could include new colors, albeit there aren’t many more to add. Red or even black would have been insane – and could be added.

If there was to be DLC, please, for the love of the Force, give us new attire options! I always hated the fact that Cal’s outfits never looked like anything to be admired, to say the least. He just looked a mess, even after getting his footing as a Jedi. New outfits would be welcomed.

That’s just five things I’d love to see if DLC was to eventually come.
