Why I Prefer Miles Morales Over Peter Parker

The first thing is first, I’m not a Peter Parker hater or anything along those lines, I just think it’s more than time to take a break from the whole “Peter story” in games, comics, and live-action.

Peter Parker is the best Spider-Man, without a doubt but we’ve seen his story one too many times, I mean in live-action alone I’ve seen his origins twice and the Marvel Cinematic Universe skipped over it but deep down when you think about it, his origin story was him losing Tony. It’s basically another Uncle Ben plot.

At this current time, Peter is being overused and people just eat it up but yet, these same people complain about Bruce Wayne/Batman being overpowered, overused, and just everywhere.

Now Peter will always be the OG, but Miles deserves the spotlight for a while, just like how Batman Beyond deserves the spotlight over Bruce Wayne.

Miles Morales got introduced in 2011 and he’s always been “pushed to the back” so Peter could get the spotlight, but there are kids who are young, growing up with the character of Miles, he’s their Spider-Man, they deserve to see him live-action before it’s too late.

And before people say “well Peter brings in the money”, you are more than right, but so does Miles, Into the Spider-Verse released and it did amazing, it showcased not only can Miles bring in money as the movie made over $350 million at the box office and it wasn’t even a live-action movie.

The animated movie also spoke a lot about people of color and how they can be a hero, young kids going to the cinema and seeing Miles as Spider-Man? That was amazing.

Now, there are rumors, according to Jeremy Conrad over at MCU Cosmic, that Sony and Marvel have already cast an actor as Miles Morales in live-action form, however, what we don’t know is if it is for Spider-Man 3 as that movie is seemingly introducing the multiverse.

We already know Miles exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Donald Glover played Aaron Davis and mentions his nephew to Spider-Man and there was even a deleted scene where he calls Miles on the phone.

So I believe just for the time being, make Miles the main Spider-Man, it doesn’t have to be permanent but he deserves the spotlight, it makes for new stories, new action, and in reality, a better version of Spider-Man with unique abilities and powers.
