Doom Patrol “Ezekiel Patrol” Review

Season 1 episode 15 “The team tries to cope with a hard truth as Mr. Nobody prepares for his final act of vengeance.”

What Was Good?

1. So they episode starts off back at the Ant-Farm in 1961 where we see Niles as a doctor and he’s speaking to another doctor and mentions that Rita is the first to test his test to expand his life range.

2. Back in present day it’s been about 6 months since Niles told the team that he was the reason for their accidents. We see Larry and Rita living together, Rita as a high school acting teacher and Larry has been training with his negative spirit. Jane however is in rough shape, she’s living on the bus and is seemingly taking drugs, Cliff is watching over her and giving her food. Vic hasn’t really got over what Mr Nobody did to him so he is spending most of his time inside stopping international money launderers.

3. Another flashback and this time Niles is breaking down crying and speaking to Vic’s mom and he tells her what he’s did which the camera pans to Cliff robot face before Cliff’s accident.

What Was Bad?

1. Well for what was a finale it had far to many flashbacks and not a lot of action for what a finale is meant to be. It mostly focused on Niles explaining and telling people about what he’s done.

2. Throughout the season Mr Nobody and came here and there and has been incredible however all that was thrown out the window when he became a alcoholic in Danny the Street.

3. Mr Nobody has teamed up with a Ezekiel the Cockroach and the Rat who took control of Cliff earlier in the season. They became giants and Mr Nobody couldn’t handle them so he manipulated the narration and made the giant cockroach and giant rat kiss with tongue.

Holy Shit Moment

Cliff gets ate by the giant rat and the rest of the team get ate by the cockroach. The kissing happens and Cliff goes inside the cockroach. Larry and the cockroch go back to real life and the team slices the belly of the cockroach (now normal size) and slide out of it’s belly still being small.

The Verdict

Weak finale, not much action until the last 15 minutes or so. Far to many flashbacks for a finale. Didn’t get to explore more of Rita’s powers and abilities.

Rating: 6/10
