Season 2 episode 6 “In the wake of tragedy, Seg helps Nyssa rescue their son; alliances on Wegthor fracture.”
What Was Good?
1. The episode dives straight off the heels of Lyta’s death and it shows us the effects it has on Seg how he breaks down crying while Zod deals with his loss by staying silent and brutally throwing a soldier from his tower.
2. Dev is speaking to Seg and Jayna about Lyta, how he feels bad because he abandoned her after she got reconditioned and he feels her death is on him but Seg tells him that it’s not his fault and that they need to push on to stop Zod.
3. Val takes command of the rebels after they turn on Jax after the brutal killing of Lyta. Jax and her right hand man get put in prison by Val but she manages to escape with some gravity bombs which she later plants on the space elevator. Val, Kem and Adam capture Jax.
4. Zod is creating a weapon which packs a punch that feels like a warhead, he needs to codex to make it work which Nyssa is bringing him in exchange for her son. Nyssa brings the codex to Zod but outsmarts him and escapes by jumping out the tower window onto a scimmer Seg was flying. They fly out to the outterlands where Jayna and Dev are based.
What Was Bad?
1. Nyssa betraying Val and not helping the rebels win the war and giving Zod a working codex.
2. Lyta is actually dead.. so how is Zod still alive? Does Lyta get cloned like Nyssa did?
Holy Shit Moment
1. Nyssa is being escorted to Zod by 2 members of the Sagitari which they lead Nyssa to be killed when she turns the tables and stabs both of them in the neck then running into Seg.
2. Val destroys the space elevator because Zod is a dictator and isn’t worried about the Kryptonian people on the moon which he’s threatening to destroy.
The Verdict
Heartfelt episode focused on the death of Lyta. The Seg and Brainiac partnership is amazing to see them connect and work together. Nyssa was the stand out character of the episode. The tease of Zod vs Doomsday!
