Why I’m Excited for Hogwarts Legacy

To be honest, this game took me by surprise when the reveal trailer launched. I’ve been longing for a game set in the Harry Potter universe for quite some time now.

I mentioned quite a bit in my article from a few days ago which you can read here.

What makes me so excited for this is the RPG side. From what I have heard, you will choose your path and House that you go into. Having that ability to choose the way the game progresses interests me, especially being in a universe I am a huge fan of.

The game was initially set for a 2021 release, however, it was pushed back to 2022 but I am okay with it. I’d rather this come out and be perfect.

Another part of the game that peaks my interest is the timeline. The game is going to be set in the late 1800s, so well before Harry Potter was around. This gives the studio and writers a lot of breathing room when it comes to writing the scripts, so realistically we have no idea where this is going to go.

I said it in my other article, the mobile variant; Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mastery was actually a pretty decent game for what it is despite the game being plagued with microtransactions and timed variants. By having this game, we get all of that with quality graphics, in-depth stories and so much more.

We do know that we will have the ability to customize our own characters, and the game will have a “morality system” in play as well – so it does show how open the game will be and how you want to play it.

I’d love the idea of having to go to classes including the Dark Arts, Quidditch, Potions, and more. I kind of hope it has a similar system to Bully, where you have to also keep to a schedule in order to sleep, but have the ability to sneak out during the nighttime.

Having a full in-depth system for the Quidditch matches would be awesome as well, maybe even introducing the Quidditch World Cup and being able to play within that would-be class.

Overall, I’m just so excited about this. Especially being up to date from the older Harry Potter games, and being its own standalone version can only be a good thing.

I’m a huge Harry Potter fan so being able to go in and try different things will be an exceptional experience all around.

Roll on 2022 for now, and once news and announcements come from the game, we will be sure to let you know.
