The Flash “Timeless” Review

Season 7 Episode 9 – After a devastating betrayal, Barry turns to Timeless Wells for help; Iris leads Team Citizen down a dangerous road in search of answers; Cisco confides his biggest fear to Kamilla.

What I Liked

1. I’m loving Barry vs the speed force! We’ve seen him come against many villains over the years, and the speed force was the one thing always on his side. The speed force chose Barry, I think that’s what makes this so deep. It chose him to be The Flash, and now he has to work against it, and what makes it even more brutal is the fact the speed force is in the form of his Mother.

2. Nora is becoming pretty brutal. Towards the end of the episode we see her face Dion, while it doesn’t show us what she does, we do see her standing in front of him phasing. Honestly, I do like the idea of the speed force gone bad.

3. Overall, it was nice to see all of the forces in one episode instead of them being scattered. We get a further feel of each of them, even if Alexa wasn’t really in it all that much.

What I Disliked

1. This episode seemed pretty pointless for the majority of it. By the end of the episode, most of what happened became pretty irrelevant.

2. Cisco has been part of this team since the very beginning, and the reveal of him leaving was just dreadful. “I need to leave Central City” and that’s it? After all that time. I expected something bigger to make him leave.

Favourite Moment

The acting throughout the scene with Barry and Dion was incredible! It was so intense and well played out by both actors! Honestly even I felt a little intimidated it was done that well. The rage coming from Dion is scary and he makes that very well known.

Standout Character

I’m going to give this week’s standout to Barry. He had a lot of power in this episode, he had the choice to destroy all the other forces and chose not to do it anyways. Despite the fact, these forces are gods and could very well turn against him. It’s a bold move that’s for sure.

Verdict

The story progressed well and the characters all played their roles very well! However, the lack of action in this episode massively let the episode down, and although I liked where the story was going the episode itself was pretty boring.
