Season 2 Episode 2 – Still on the lookout for evil in Blue Valley, Courtney grows suspicious after an unexpected visitor shows up at the Dugan house; Barbara and Pat become concerned after a visit from a mysterious antiques collector; Cindy puts her plan in motion.
What I Liked
1. So far I like the portrayal of Green Lanterns’ daughter Jenny. After the fight broke out between her and Courtney and destroying the entire kitchen, Pat and Barbara offer her a place to stay. Jenny asks for Pat to teach her how the ring works and I’m sensing some jealousy coming from Courtney.
2. I love the relationship Jenny is already building with the group and how we’re already seeing her learning her power. I do feel bad for Courtney as she’s obviously feeling pushed out, but it’s always great when a new hero comes into it and learns their powers pretty quickly.
3. So glad Pat spoke some sense into Courtney so that the jealousy is laid to bed early. I can understand that feeling completely but I did not want it dragging out.
4. After watching the beginning and seeing the ring power when Jenny put it on I had a feeling we were going down the route of her being the lantern which was right. The reveal for this was incredible as we see Jenny absorb the energy from the Lantern.
5. When Pat realized that Richard Swift is a villain known as “The Shade”, the final member of the Injustice Society the first thing he does is make Courtney aware. Her reaction to being able to pick up the staff again was priceless.
What I Disliked
Nothing to report this week.
Favourite Moment
The final scene with Cindy was so powerful! It seems she wants to be fully in control but I don’t think she is. Whatever is controlling her seems to be manipulating her and others, and even killed Cindy’s stepmother. Cindy for me is playing out to be a very great villain!
Standout Character
This week’s standout is going to our newest member of the team, Jenny! I already like the character and I’m intrigued to see what she can bring to the team as The Green Lantern.
Verdict
An amazing episode this week! Great story development and we’re only two episodes in. We have a new hero, a new villain and I’m excited to see what next week’s episode has to offer!
